Summary of steps necessary to lay the aviary netting

1. Unwind the netting to create an oval shape.
2. Unfold the netting and mount it gradually, unfolding the netting on a support.
3. Unwind the netting on both sides perpendicularly to the previously chosen width. Gradually, mount each side at the same time, spreading the netting along its entire length.
4. All is left is to mount the last part of the netting.
TIPS: Do not mount the top part and then the bottom part without mounting the sides first. Otherwise, you will not be able to mount the sides.

For more detailed explanations, you can read the section below with diagrams; and our advice: use the Bostitch stapler for easy fixing of aviary netting to a tight cord.

Step 1 - Receiving and unwinding the netting

First, you will receive a parcel with compressed, folded and packed net. Unfold it so that it has an oval shape and looks larger than required.

Step 2 - Unfolding the net

Unfold the netting along the entire length of the aviary and mount it, deploying mesh on the entire width.

Step 3 - Unfolding the aviary netting

Unfold the netting on both sides, starting from the original width, and lower it until it reaches the bottom of the aviary. To make installation simpler, you can temporarily mark the widths. After marking the length of the net, mount its bottom part.

Do not mount the top part and then the bottom part without mounting the sides first, because otherwise it will be impossible to mount the netting to the sides. If you do it this way, the result will be as follows:

Step 4 - Mount all sides of the netting in regular intervals.

The net is now arranged in a rhombus shape, filling the entire area that is to be covered. Now, permanently mount the net on each side.

Tips on securing the net: Bostitch P7 stapler

For mounting the net on a fence or tensioned cord, with or without a guard, we definitely recommend using the Bostitch P7 stapler. When using the stapler, the staples will create a circle, which will make it easier to connect the netting with the support.

The video below shows the said staples:
