Pigeon spikes are a perfect solution for deterring birds that want to land on your house or in its vicinity. They can be installed in a number of ways: on gutters using mounting clips or by sticking them directly on a flat surface. All explanations can be found here.
Which mounting method for pigeon spikes to choose?
The mounting method for pigeon spikes depends mainly on the place at which they are to be installed.
In case of gutters, mounting clips are the best option. Just insert the clips into the spike base and clamp them on the edge of a gutter (as shown in the photograph below).
For all other surfaces, gypsum putty can be used to effectively mount bird spikes on any surface.
How to properly install pigeon spikes?
Clips for mounting spikes on gutters
Gutter clips are suitable for all spike models, providing full protection of external and internal gutters. We recommend using 4 clips per 1 metre, regardless of the spike type.
Gypsum putty for mounting bird spikes on each kind of substrate
Spikes are mounted using gypsum putty, which is available on this website. For use on all surfaces, such as:
Glass
Concrete
Aluminium
Wood
Glass surfaces
PVC
Polycarbonate
Putty tubes are sold individually and allow mounting from 10 to 12 metres of spikes, depending on the surface of installation. In order to ensure optimum performance of the adhesive, installation must be carried out on a dry surface free from dust and solvents, at a temperature in the range of 5-40°C. That is why it is necessary to thoroughly clean the surface, so that the adhesive can last for long.
